Underwire: Red Band Trailer for Evil Dead Remake is Gruesome, Doesn't Suck Oct 25th 2012, 01:24 Underwire Taking the Pulse of Pop Culture Red Band Trailer for Evil Dead Remake is Gruesome, Doesn't Suck Oct 25th 2012, 01:01 Less than two weeks ago Bruce Campbell — the star of 1981′s The Evil Dead — told a room full of geeks at New York Comic Con that the upcoming reboot of the flick would not “screw you over” when it came to pleasing fans of gore. Judging by the new red band trailer, he wasn’t kidding. The first Evil Dead clip (above), which was shown to the New York audience, tears through many gruesome shots from director Fede Alvarez’s vision of Evil Dead and leaves nothing to the imagination in terms of just how twisted and bloody his film will be. From trees that entrap their victims to more than one kind of demonic self-mutilation, the trailer is cringe-inducing in all the best ways. It also shows the possibility that even if it doesn’t live up to the original, it could still be a horrific good time. Anyone else dying to see this movie? Evil Dead hits theaters April 12, 2013.
